CPPRI has been spearheading the R&D in the Indian Pulp and Paper Sector. This activity has been funded by the Cess Funds provided to CPPRI through the Development Council for Pulp, Paper and Allied Industries.

There have been many results that now need to be disseminated and discussed. CPPRI has the pleasure to announce a one workshop on 17th August 2011 (9.30 A.M. – 5.00 P.M.) at Tagore Chamber, Scope Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The workshop will discuss the outcomes of the following projects.

• Secondary sludge Treatment & Disposal in Pulp & Paper Industry (IPMA/ TCIRD)
• Agro Based Paper Unit’s Socio Economic Impact on Rural Economy (IARPMA)
• Online Batch Digester Monitoring & Control of Kappa Number in Indian Pulp & Paper Mills. (CPPRI/IIT Mumbai)
• Colour and TDS Removal From ECF Bleach Plant Effluent (IPMA / TNPL)
• Data for Amendment in Stiffness Specifications for Different Paper Grades Under BIS Standards (CPPRI)

SPECIAL ATTRACTION
This session has equal attraction for the scientist, industry as well as those working in the social sector. Paper industry is a raw material deficient sector. Increasing importance has been attached for the recycle for post consumer paper as raw material for the industry. However, even with best efforts, only about 18-20% ( and these are just estimates) of post consumer paper comes back to the industry for recycle. Therefore, we have dedicated a special session on “Conceptualisation of Paper Recycling Model for India to Enhance the Recovery of Waste Paper”.

CPPRI invites the industry, policy makers, researchers and other stake holders to attend the workshop.

Interested participants may fill up the registration form and send to CPPRI before 10th August 2011 (Dr.Suresh Panwar) Sc .F & Head Environment Management Division
