Objectives
To reduce the quantity of solid waste generation from the paper Industry.

Activities
The project activities are scheduled in two phases. Phase - I includes bench scale and pilot scale studies on manufacturing of value added products from inorganic solid wastes, productivity enhancement of rotary lime kiln and re-burning of lime sludge with high silica content in vertical kilns and Phase – II for setting up of demonstration plant. The activities of Phase – I have been concluded satisfactorily on bench and pilot scale & now Phase - II envisages the demonstration of technologies developed.

Nagaon unit of HPC has agreed to share 50% of 4.0 crores cost of 50- TPD demonstration MVSK plant in their unit subject to ten days successful trial on re-burning of their lime sludge in MVSK unit in North East India.
