Two batches of mill personnel
from M/s Hindustan Paper Corporations Limited, Unit Cachar were imparted
training in Refining, Neutral Sizing and Paper evaluation.
¤ Training programmes on raw material preparation, pulping, bleaching
and fiber morphology were conducted at HPC, Cachar unit. Training was given
to three batches.

¤ Sh. S. S. Dixit and Sh. Alok Kumar Goel attended the certificate
course on "Boilers Efficient Operation and Maintenance" organized
by the Institute of Energy Management, Hyderabad at Pune during February 13
- 15, 2004.
¤ Dr. B. P. Thapliyal and Sh. Sanjay Tyagi attended the Preparatory
Training Course for "National Certification Examination for Energy
Auditors" organized by National Productivity Council, Chennai at New
Delhi during February 9-13, 2004.
¤ Dr. Nitin Endlay was selected by SIDA to participate in a Advanced
International Training Programme cum Follow- up Seminar on "Environmental
Technology in Pulp & Paper Industries" held at Markaryd, Sweden
from 10th -21st November 2003. The training programme was sponsored by SIDA
& was directed towards the participants in Environmental Technology
Courses from 1990-2002. It was designed with the following objectives:
- To evaluate the effects of Environment Technology Courses 1990-2002.
- Contribute to the development of the environmental network within pulp &
paper industries.
- Find out the need for further education and training directed towards
environmental technology for sustainable pulp & paper production.
¤ Dr. Endlay also visited Munksoja Laga Mill AB, Markaryd, Sodra Cell
AB, Morrum Bruk, Morrum, & Stora Enso Hylte Mill, Hylte Burk to have a
glimpse of the technological developments made by Swedish pulp & paper
industry.
