About Library

The CPPRI Library was established in the year 1980 to meet the research interests of the scientists in the field of Pulp and Paper & allied industries. It has one of the best collection of literature on Pulp and Paper and related fields. Presently it subscribes to around 43 journals (foreign as well as Indian) on Pulp and Paper. The overall collection of books, proceedings, reference materials, viz., reports, directories, encyclopedias, etc. is 7400 . At present the library automation work is in progress and very soon the information on library collection will be made available to external users through internet.

Collection

The overall collection of books, proceedings, reference materials, viz., reports, directories, encyclopedias, etc. is 7400 . Total No. of periodical titles now received in the CPPRI Library is 43 and some of them accessed more than 40 years back. Major standards like ISO, TAPPI, CPPA, SCAN, APPITA, ASTM and BIS including Institute’s own testing methods manual are available in the field of Pulp and Paper.

Selective Dissemination of Information Service

Selective Dissemination of Information Service rendered to Indian Paper Mills, Member Mills, R&D Centres, Associations as well as Institute’s scientists.

Current Awareness Service

Provides the abstracts from the current journals (subscribed or on-line) on Pulp and Paper Industry to the Institute member mills against Institute’s Membership as well as to Institute’s scientists.

Reference/ Referral Service

The library provides reference/referral service to the Institute’s users as well as external users.

Bibliographic Service

This service is provided to the scientists of the Institute on request from time to time.

Reprographic Service

The library provides photocopying facility for the users of the Institute as well as for outsiders. The Xerox facilities are provided to the outsiders at the rate of five rupees for each copy.

Internet Search Service

Internet search/ E-mail service is provided to the Institute scientists in order to facilitate an efficient electronic communication system with the Industry.
