XXXIII Meeting of the Council of Association of CPPRI, held on 5th March, 2004 at CPPRI, Saharanpur (U.P.)

The above meeting was chaired by Sh. Lakshmi Chand, IAS, Secretary (DoIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India & President, Council of Association of CPPRI and for the first time almost all the Presidents of Indian Paper Industry Associations viz. Sh. N.Gopalaratnam, President, Indian Paper Manufacturers Association (IPMA), Sh. J.Chitlangia, President, Indian Agro & Recycled Paper Mills Association (IARPMA), Sh. Raji Philip, President, Indian Newsprint Manufacturers Association (INMA), Sh. R.C.Rastogi, President, Indian Recycled Paper Mills Association (IRPMA), including Sh. Gautam Thapar, Chairman, Development Council for Pulp, Paper & Allied Industries participated in the above meeting of the Council of Association. During the meeting, Sh. S. Jagadeesan, IAS, Joint Secreatry (DoIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, was chosen as Vice President of the Council of Association of CPPRI. Council's members appreciated the contributions of Institute to the Indian Paper Industry and they also acknowledged that the paper industry derived benefits emulating from the outcomes of the R & D projects carried out by CPPRI.


While discussing "Road Map" of the Institute, the President suggested that the road map of the Institute should be circulated and discussed during next meeting of the Council of Association of the Institute.

Release of Documentary on CPPRI

A Documentary on CPPRI covering activities and achievements of the Institute was released by Shri Lakshmi Chand, IAS, Secretary (DoIPP), MoC&I, Govt. of India on 5.3.2004 at CPPRI, Saharanpur.

The Documentary on CPPRI is released by Sh. Lakshmi Chand, IAS, Secretary (DoIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India and Sh. Gautam Thapar, Chairman, Development Council for Pulp, Paper & Allied Industries is also seen.

Inauguration of New Library & Documentation Centre of CPPRI

New Library Building

The new Library Building was inaugurated by Sh. Lakshmi Chand, IAS, Secretary (DoIPP), MoC&I, Govt. of India on 5.3.2004 at CPPRI, Saharanpur.The other prominent personalities during the inauguration were, Sh. N. Gopalaratnam, President, Indian Paper Manufacturers Association (IPMA), Sh. J. Chitlangia, President, Indian Agro & Recycled Paper Mills Association (IARPMA), Sh. Raji Philip, President, Indian Newsprint Manufacturers Association (INMA) and Sh R.C. Rastogi, President, Indian Recycled Paper Mills Association (IRPMA) including Head and Professors of Paper Division, IIT Roorkee, Saharanpur and Executives of Star Paper Mills Saharanpur. The Architecture of the building & facilities available in the new Library & Documentation Centre were highly appreciated by the President, Council of Association of CPPRI.
