1. Desilication of Black Liquor
The world's first successful Desilication technology was developed and tested on semi pilot scale, achieving more than 80% desilication in bamboo and agro residues black liquors. A mill scale demo plant was erected and commissioned at Hindustan Newsprint Limited, in 1989.

2. Thermal Treatment of Black Liquor
Process of thermal depolymerization of black liquor to reduce viscosity & to attain high solids concentration was developed by CPPRI.

3. High Rate Biomethanation
High Rate Biomethanation of black liquor was successfully developed and commissioned on full scale commercial plant. About 10,000 m3/day biogas is generated.
