Objective
After
successful demonstration of biomethantion plant on commercial scale for
recovery of bioenergy from pulping spent liquor in one of the agro residue
based mill, efforts were continued to install second demonstration plant to
further prove the state of art technology for treatment of pulping spent
liquor of different raw materials.
Activities
In
the earlier proposed mills - i.e . Vamshadhara Paper Mill, Srikakulam and
M/s Mohit Paper Mills Ltd, Bijnor, the activities relating to installation
of demo biomethanation plant under Sub-project P-3 could not be taken up due
to the techno-economic reasons expressed by the mills.
Finally
Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers Ltd (TNPL) has been selected for
installation of biomethanation plant for treatment of washings generated
during wet cleaning of bagasse.
