The Environment Management Division is equipped with state-of-art facilities for rendering consultancy & technical services to pulp & paper industry and allied industries as well as undertaking research & developmental activities in the area of characterization of pollutants ( liquid, solid and air emissions) generated by pulp & paper industry and their management. The division is actively engaged in providing solutions to various environmental challenges being faced by the pulp & paper mills.

The division has been associated with different environmental related projects sponsored by various national & International agencies like United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Global Environment Facility (GEF), Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources (MNES), Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Indian Agro & Recycled Paper Mills Association (IARPMA), Indian Paper Manufacturers Association (IPMA), National Council of Cement & Building Materials (NCBM )etc.

Well equipped with modern analytical equipments for complete environmental monitoring like AOX analyzer, Gas chromatograph, BOD trak apparatus, CST apparatus, Auto sampler, UASB reactor , Toxicity Analyser , Turbidity meter , High volume sampler, Respirable dust sampler, Stack monitoring kits, Testo- 350/400, Portable gas chromatograph , Gas Tech Apparatus, Noise meter, Portable spectrophotometer, Image Analyser, Organic vapour samplers, wind monitor etc.

¤ Assessment of AOX levels in Indian Pulp & Paper Industry - The findings have been the bench marks for formulation of AOX discharge standards by CPCB.

¤ Development of successful technology in collabration with NCBM for conversion of lime sludge, cinder & ash to cement, bricks and blocks.
